WHAT TO EXPECT:

Fly Fishing in New Zealand is famous for a reason. It is one of the most spectacular destinations in the world to target large wild trout in pristine waters. However this does not mean it’s easy, in fact it is also some of the most challenging.  This is due to the clear water and low numbers of large and wily fish. Your guide will work closely with you to ensure the best chance of success.

THE SCHEDULE:

You day starts with pickup from you Accomodation or at a meeting point. We then head to our river of choice for the day and gear up. From here we walk/wade up the river in search of fish to target. We stop for lunch and then continue upriver. At the end of the day we will return to the car, a walk that is often between 2-5km depending on how far we have gone in the day.  We then return to Te Anau and drop you back to your accomodation hopefully with plenty of great memories and photos to match!

WHAT TO BRING:

We will provide all the necessary fishing equipment on the day (rod/reel/flies ect.) If you wish to bring your own, we prefer using #5 or #6 weight rods with floating lines.

Waders/boots are optional as we usually wet-wade throughout the season. Boots are provided.
